Chang-Diaz to keynote MBHP property owner event
On Thursday, March 3, the Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership (MBHP) will honor the property owners and
management companies who provide housing for MBHP tenants.
Joining MBHP to thank them for their dedication to providing safe, decent housing for MBHP rental assistance
tenants will be Massachusetts State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz (Second Suffolk District). Chang-Diaz, the first
Latina woman elected to the state senate, helped champion the recently passed Foreclosure Protection Bill and is a
staunch advocate for affordable housing for all families.
During the event,
- MBHP will honor three property owners/managers who have gone above and beyond for their tenants.
- Chelsea Neighborhood Developers and WinnManagement will be recognized for the development of Spencer Green and for their efforts to develop, preserve and manage safe, affordable housing that helps stabilize neighborhoods.
- Jamaica Plain’s Zulema Romero-Mendivil will be honored for her commitment to her tenants and for providing them with safe, decent homes.
- Braintree Village and Peabody Properties will be recognized for their participation in MBHP’s Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program by working to place homeless families in apartments as quickly as possible.
The evening begins with a mixer/reception at 6 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. The event will be at the
MBHP offices, 125 Lincoln Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02111.
