Metro Housing|Boston Board Co-Chair Robert Torres is running the BAA Boston Marathon on April 20th.
Robert is the Director of Community Benefits and Community Relations at Beth Israel Lahey Health and a longtime affordable housing advocate. He joined Metro Housing’s Board of Directors in 2020 and became Co-Chair in 2025.
Robert said, “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Metro Housing Boston since 2009, long before joining the Board. Over that time, I’ve seen firsthand the extraordinary impact this organization has on housing stability across Greater Boston—supporting individuals and families when they need it most. What continues to inspire me is how much Metro Housing Boston accomplishes with modest resources. There are very few organizations that can match its reach, its effectiveness, and its commitment to ensuring people across Massachusetts have a place to call home.”
Founded in 1983, Metro Housing|Boston has worked with a network of property owners and service providers to help Greater Boston individuals and families find safe housing they can afford. Metro Housing administers state and federal housing subsidies to over 20,000 families annually, continuing to provide inspection and case management long after their vouchers are claimed. Metro Housing increases our impact through privately funded programs and services, including housing placement, intensive case management, specialized counseling, financial coaching, and emergency assistance funding.
Thank you for supporting Robert and helping Metro Housing|Boston ensure that every individual in Greater Boston has a place to call home.
